With some time up our sleeve and no set agenda where would we head? The outback of course.
Our minds were awash with excitement and anticipation as we motored along the Stuart Highway into the Northern Territory. Our trip to this point had been exhilarating and challenging but we will leave that yarn for another time. We had been to the Northern Territory years before leaving us wanting more from its ancient, weather sculptured landscape and incredible scenery. The “Red Centre” inevitably conjures up images of vast, flat desert and while it is vast, the landscape surrounding the capital of the centre, Alice Springs is far from flat. The McDonnell Ranges dominate the landscape, their red hues contrasting magnificently with the deep blue hues of the sky.
