The Outdoor Gallery, located along the Outback Way is an innovative deconstructed outdoor gallery experience with 14 double sided billboards located on a stretch of the Plenty Highway in the NT across 111kms. The first billboards are an hour and a half drive from Alice Springs.
The inaugural exhibition has 28 artworks showcasing 27 remote and regional artists from the NT, Qld and WA. Nineteen of the exhibiting artists are Indigenous and 26 are women.
The concept is about taking art, supersizing it and locating the viewing experience in the landscape, adding to the experience of the great Aussie road trip along the iconic remote Plenty Highway, a part of the Outback Way.
