Volunteer campground hosts:
- NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) are now recruiting new volunteer campground hosts
- Campground hosts are passionate volunteers who provide valuable support to NPWS staff by meeting and greeting campers and providing them with friendly and helpful advice so they can make the most of their stay in a NSW national park
- Campground hosts receive free campsite access when they volunteer and have plenty of time to enjoy the park, between hosting duties
- Hosts are primarily rostered during school holidays
- This program is a great opportunity to experience camping in our national parks while providing a valuable service to the public
About the campground host program:
- Certain campsites within NSW national parks require volunteer campground hosts. To be part of the program, Campground hosts need a general level of fitness, a NSW Working with Children Check and a current First Aid certificate
- Campground hosts don’t need these prior to registration or attendance at a training weekend, but will need these prior to the first hosting position
Campground host training dates:
- There are two training weekends coming up, held at the Royal National Park in Sydney
- Weekend of 28 May: 9am start, finishing 1:30pm 29 May
- Weekend of 25 June: 9am start, finishing 1:30pm 26 June
- Overnight accommodation is provided at Bonnie Vale campground, Royal National Park
- Campground hosts will need to bring their own camping gear/motorhome/camper trailer
- All meals (except breakfast) are provided.
Please visit nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/campground-hosts for more information or register for a training weekend.
