Goulburn is set to be thoroughly entertained this spring with a huge line-up of sporting, artistic and community events anticipated to draw hundreds of spectators and visitors from across the state, Australia and the world.
Goulburn will host over ten major events between September and November, including; two Pictures and Popcorn in the Park events, SPYfest, Streamliners, the 40th Anniversary of All Historic Racing, Steampunk Victoriana Fair, NSW Country Golf Championships and multiple NSW under 21’s/Open Hockey competitions, the Marulan Kite Festival, and a Reader Writer Festival.
These upcoming events in the region have been pooled together as a program under the title Goulburn’s Spring Event Series, to assist with promotion of Goulburn’s busy season.
The theme for the 2016 Spring Event Series is aptly named ‘Compete. Create. Delight’.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s Coordinator Marketing and Events, Jessica Price, said that these events wouldn’t happen without dedicated local community groups and tireless work from the city’s tourism industry.
Mrs Price said that while major events attract visitors to Goulburn, our regular attractions and events including exhibitions and performances continue to attract visitation throughout the year.
“Goulburn is such a great place for visitors with a wide range of experiences on offer. Combined with our busy calendar of events for spring, that will suit interests of all sorts, the season is an even better time to visit.” Mrs Price said.
“The city and region have fantastic accommodation and dining options, unique shopping and a range of attractions for visitors to explore.”
